Renault Megane Sedan is very different from the five-door Megane modification (model description) and is assembled at a completely different plant and looks more like the older brother in the French family - Talisman. Inside and out, the sedan resembles a luxury limousine.

The feeling of spaciousness comes from the generous proportions of the car - 4.63 m long and 1.81 m wide, with a wheelbase of 2.71 m, which is a record for its class. As a small minus for Bulgaria, an insufficient ground clearance of 13 cm can be noted.

The Renault Megane Sedan factory, assembled in Bursa, Turkey, has a number of auxiliary systems. There is traffic sign recognition technology, a blind spot warning system, a reversing camera, automatic high beam headlights, front, rear and side parking sensors, as well as a convenient parking assistant on the steering wheel while maneuvering.

The sedan is equipped as standard with the latest generation Electronic Stability Program (ESP), traction control, brake assist, electronic brake force distribution and hill-start assist.

There are also entertainment such as a hands-free trunk opening system that works by detecting foot movement under the rear bumper, as well as a "hands-free" card to get into the car and start the engine (with the car's automatic lock).

The electronic parking brake is not only convenient, but also frees up space on the center console.

During tests in the capital of Poland, we tested two diesel engines with a capacity of 110 and 130 horsepower with a 6-speed manual transmission (there is also a version with a 7-speed automatic).

I first tried the variant with the built-in more powerful Energy dCi 130 diesel engine, which has 320 Nm of torque and is available at 1750 rpm.

The engine produces 130 horsepower from just 1598 cc. It is supported by a particularly efficient design based on an architecture derived from Renault's experience in Formula 1. The high torque, in addition to good overtaking dynamics, also guarantees a quick start.

After the end of the ride, the on-board computer showed a naphtha consumption of 5.5 liters when driving outside the city, and part of it was on highways with a maximum speed of 140 km / h (this is in Poland, and the tolerance is higher by 10 km / h). The next day we got on the 110 hp version, which was not much less dynamic than the 130 horses.

The interior surprises with the quality of materials. The vehicle is equipped with soft foam for the instrument panel, door top panels, door inserts and armrests. Higher trims even have a steering wheel upholstered in Nappa leather. The seats also have lateral support thanks to the dual-density foam they are made from. The frames are the same as the Espace and Talisman. Depending on the version, the front seats are heated and the driver can use the massage function and electrically adjustable lumbar support.

Shoulder and elbow room is one of the largest in its class. 216mm is rear knee distance - 37mm more than the 5-door version.

The volume of the front glove compartment is 7 liters.

There is a 1.5 liter bottle in the pocket on the front door. the vehicle is also equipped with a color head-up display, a customizable 7" color TFT display in the instrument panel, and an R-LINK 2 media tablet in two formats (7" horizontal or 8" horizontal, 7" vertical).

The tablet on the center console offers a two-finger zoom in and out function for easy operation.

In addition to adaptive cruise control, this Renault even has an active emergency braking system that works at speeds from 30 to 150 km / h. This program warns the driver about the danger of a collision with a car ahead. If it does not react, the brakes are automatically applied to avoid or minimize a collision.
